I  know you folks see things differently on the left coast, but you need to do some homework before you publish this kind of liberal political propaganda on your entertainment industry newsletter. Who died and made you a political expert and commentator?

“This isn’t about social media, this is about authoritarianism. This is what happens when one person has too much power and exercises it willy-nilly.”

Twitter was and still is a private company and has no requirement to abide by the First Amendment. And yet – until Elon Musk bought the company – Twitter was home to numerous left wing liberals who used the platform to block conservative points of view, as we’ve seen in the release of the “Twitter Files”. Worse yet, the Federal government and the Biden administration – who ARE required by our Constitution to abide by the First Amendment – put pressure on Twitter to block information they did not like and to ban and block people they disagreed with. This is all documented through internal Twitter documents and files.

Now THAT is authoritarianism.

“And freedom of speech. That’s the right’s complaint about Twitter, that it’s biased towards the left, even though statistics tell us otherwise.”

May we see your statistics, please? Because the documents we’ve seen since Musk took over PROVE that Twitter was biased towards the left, and was under the influence of the Federal government. That should bother you a lot, unless you approve of government agents getting involved with social media to influence the public.

Citations, please? I’m all for electric vehicles, as long as they don’t cost $30,000 more than the “gas guzzlers” and can drive more than 300 miles without going dead, with charging stations few and far between. But never fear – the Biden administration and Congress has fixed that problem!

How easily can the poor and “people of color” afford to spend $50,000 on an electric car? Meanwhile, California is asking people to NOT use air conditioning because of power shortages.

“Californians sweltering in the West’s lengthening heat wave were asked to reduce air conditioning and cut other electricity use again during critical hours Friday and again Saturday to prevent stress on the state’s electrical grid that could lead to rolling blackouts.”

I couldn’t care less about Hunter Biden’s laptop, except where emails and documents show how he used “the big guy” to influence business deals with Ukraine and China. Why would you NOT be concerned about that?

“Among Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings that have come under the microscope is his involvement in the Chinese equity firm BHR and its relationship with powerful Chinese state-owned companies.

“In other words, in America if you’re rich and powerful enough, the rules don’t apply.”

That’s always been true – when Senator Ted Kennedy drove his girlfriend into a lake and left her there to drown, the rules didn’t apply, and he went on to become known as “The Lion” in the Senate.

“No one should be that rich. Absolutely no one.” 

And what should be the limits on income and wealth in the United States of America? Should we confiscate billions from Oprah Winfrey, Warren Buffett, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, LeBron James, or George Soros? And what would be your legal and Constitutional right to confiscate their money?

“Rupert Murdoch is not in it for the money, he’s in it to sway the course of not only public opinion, but the country itself. That’s the power of owning the ink.”

And Jeff Bezos bought the Washington Post. But THAT doesn’t bother you!

“Even worse, Musk has the right to do all this! Yes, he owns Twitter, it’s a private company, he can ban whomever he wants to. Another headscratcher, the right is too dumb to know that freedom of speech does not apply to private companies…” 

Why is that worse when, before Elon Musk invested his own money into buying Twitter, the company and its social justice minions would ban anybody it disagreed with and took directives from the Biden administration to delete Tweets and ban posters without recourse? It’s documented! Do your research and stop bloviating your left wing nonsense.

“And many Americans have their heads in the ground, like they did with the Holocaust and the Ukraine war…they think it doesn’t affect them. But eventually they come after you.”

So Musk buying Twitter is pretty much the same as the Holocaust and the Ukraine war? WOW! Just wow! I wonder how survivors of the concentration camps feel about your equivocation?

“He or she who controls the news controls the country. And right now, Elon Musk controls the news. On a supposedly open platform.”

How “open” was the platform when Biden administration operatives asked for deletion of Twitter remarks they did not like?

“And in truth most people don’t care about Twitter, but the social network is where journalists themselves hang out, where news is initially made and distributed. That’s why the Twitter story never leaves the newspaper.”

Journalists should spend less time “hanging out” on Twitter – where content was monitored and restricted by a liberal staff and content was moderated to respect and reflect the wishes of President Biden’s staff – and more time out in the real world finding and reporting on stories. That’s why they don’t like Elon Musk – now they might have to actually BE journalists and start working for a living.

“As for billionaires… This is the legacy of Ronald Reagan. Low taxes. Trickle down? Is Elon Musk giving you any of his money? The rich give proportionately less to charity than the poor.”

Now Ronald Reagan is to blame, even 40 years after leaving office? Heck, Obama wanted to cut corporate tax rates.

“When people refer to President Obama’s tax cuts, they generally refer to the $858 billion tax cut deal signed in 2010.”

“President Obama’s plan would lower the overall corporate income tax rate from 35 percent to 28 percent and lower the effective corporate tax rate for manufacturers to 25 percent.”

“Is Elon Musk giving you any of his money?”

Once again, you’re not doing your homework.

The Musk Foundation held $9.4 billion in assets at the end of 2021, according to a tax filing obtained by Bloomberg News. It sent about $160 million to nonprofits last year, by far the most the world’s richest person has donated from his organization in a calendar year.”

Elon Musk gave $5.7 billion to charity last year.

“We think if someone is rich they know everything, have skills in other verticals, but this is patently untrue.”

You seem to think that YOU know everything! You’re a talented and informed writer when it comes to the entertainment industry and rock & roll. And yet you sure waste a lot of our time posting political commentary several times a week, as if you were some kind of political expert – but that is patently untrue.
