Bob Lefsetz’s Original Post – “No One Knows Everything”

Bob Lefsetz tells us in this blog post:

No One Knows Everything? Myself included.

Man, ain’t that the truth! You’ve often told us that:

“Being a politician is a profession. Michael Jordan proved that being the best basketball player of all time didn’t make him a world class baseball player.” – Bob Lefsetz

And you say much the same thing in this most recent blog post and newsletter:

“I won’t say no one knows anything, but no one knows everything. So take everything the self-appointed poohbahs say with a grain of salt. Check their qualifications. And if they start weighing in on everything…either their knowledge is very thin in many areas, or they’re lying outright.”

Bob Lefsetz is NOT a political pundit. He’s a “self-appointed poohbah” and over the last few years, Mr. Lefsetz has come to think of himself as an expert political pundit, pushing his liberal left coast Democratic talking points upon subscribers who never signed up for that. And I agree with him when he says:

“There are experts. But you’ve got find them and test their knowledge to qualify them.”

Bob Lefsetz is NOT an expert on politics. In another recent newsletter Lefsetz opines:

“The truth is whites and the mainstream community don’t care if another Black person dies. Just one less mouth to feed. Yup, that’s the way they see it, that Black people are takers, always wanting more, the government must stop supporting them.”

And exactly who is killing all of these black individuals? The U.S. Department of Justice tells us that:

“Today homicide is the leading cause of death among young Black men, and contributes significantly to the shortened life-span of the Black male. In about 80-90% of the cases, the Black victim was killed by another Black.”

Lefsetz has the solution, though:

“So, we’ve got to get the guns off the street. Enough of throwing our hands in the air. When your kid gets shot you’re going to go bonkers, how about someone else’s kid?”

How’s that working out in Chicago, with some of the most restrictive gun control legislation in the U.S.?

“Chicago’s gun laws are among the most restrictive in the United States, although some have loosened as they’ve been overturned in the past decade

More than 1,000 homicides here were gun-related, the medical examiner’s office said. The overwhelming majority of slayings in the city — more than 90% — were a result of gun violence, statistics show.

81% of the county’s homicide victims were Black and 15% were Latino.”

Are Chicago’s gun laws the strictest in the United States?

I’m sorry that Bob Lefsetz feels so guilty about being an old white guy and if he wants to flagellate himself as a social justice warrior responsible for all of the race problems in America today, have at it! But, believe it or not, rich white people are not the ones killing blacks and more gun laws will not put an end to gun violence and deaths.

“No One Knows Everything? Myself included.”

Bob Lefsetz knows a LOT about music, entertainment, record companies, promoters, ticketing agents, musicians and every aspect of the rock & roll world – that why most of us subscribe to his newsletter and look forward to his insight, analysis, and opinions about the world of entertainment.

But politics? Race? Gun laws? The Supreme Court? Congress? The Constitution?
