Trump/Colorado
Bob Lefsetz’s Original Post – “Trump/Colorado”
Bobby, you actually start out your latest anti-Trump rant with a very good question:
“And why shouldn’t the rule of law apply to everybody?”
It absolutely should!
“…the courts are doing what the Democrats refuse to do, hold Trump accountable.”
Seriously? For more than two years now Democrats have talked about little else but “holding Trump accountable” for something – for anything! In fact:
“Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg appears on the verge of bringing an unprecedented criminal case against former President Donald Trump — after crowing on the campaign trail that he’d be the best person to do it. The alleged offense would be a misdemeanor under state law, but Bragg wants to elevate it to a felony through an untested legal theory that would tie it to a violation of federal campaign finance rules, according to the Times.”
DA Bragg boasted during his campaign about suing Trump
Is that an example of “the rule of law applies to everybody” as you see it? Here’s another fine example of the “rule of law”:
Congress spent nearly two full years investigating the so-called “insurrection” on January 6th of 2021, resulting in more than 1,106 defendants being charged in nearly all 50 states and Washington, D.C. and being sentenced to a total of around 600 years in prison as of August 25, for damages estimated to be around $2.73 million (during which ZERO police died and only one civilian – a retired Air Force officer woman).
The George Floyd protests and riots had a different outcome.
Dozens of people were killed or injured in the violent unrest, and thousands of businesses and properties, many minority-owned, were looted, torched, or otherwise vandalized. Only now are we beginning to realize the full cost of the destruction. New reporting from Axios reveals that the total insured property losses incurred during the George Floyd riots will come in at $1 billion to $2 billion.
News reports also indicate more than 10,000 protesters were arrested, most for low-level offenses. And many of the charges brought by police were later dropped.
Meanwhile, the city of New York has agreed to pay $13 million to hundreds of people arrested during the 2020 George Floyd demonstrations, according to attorneys for the plaintiffs, who said it was the largest class action settlement ever paid to protesters in the United States.
Any Congressional investigations into the George Floyd riots? And two years wasted on investigating 1/6/21?
We truly have a dual system of justice these days…
“Not that I expect the Supreme Court to take the side of Colorado, not after what happened back in 2000, when the election was handed to Bush.”
“Handed to Bush”? From your favorite news network CNN:
“Taken as a whole, the recount studies show Bush would have most likely won the Florida statewide hand recount of all undervotes. Undervotes are ballots that did not register a vote in the presidential race. This goes against the belief that the U.S. Supreme Court handed the presidency to Bush, or took it away from Gore.”
So, who really won? What the Bush v. Gore studies showed
GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy sees the Colorado court decision for what it is:
This is what an *actual* attack on democracy looks like: in an un-American, unconstitutional, and *unprecedented* decision, a cabal of Democrat judges are barring Trump from the ballot in Colorado. Having tried every trick in the book to eliminate President Trump from running in this election, the bipartisan Establishment is now deploying a new tactic to bar him from ever holding office again: the 14th Amendment.
The 14th Amendment was part of the “Reconstruction Amendments” that were ratified following the Civil War. It was passed to prohibit former Confederate military and political leaders from holding high federal or state office. These men had clearly taken part in a rebellion against the United States: the Civil War. That makes it all the more absurd that a left-wing group in Colorado is asking a federal court to disqualify the 45th President on the same grounds, equating his speech to rebellion against the United States.
And there’s another legal problem: Trump is not a former “officer of the United States,” as that term is used in the Constitution, meaning Section 3 does not apply. As the Supreme Court explained in Free Enterprise Fund v. Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (2010), an “officer of the United States” is someone appointed by the President to aid him in his duties under Article II, Section 2. The term does not apply to elected officials, and certainly not to the President himself.
But, of course, political expert and pundit Bob Lefsetz knows better…
“But the liberals are told not to hate the MAGAs.”
And what planet do YOU live on?
Biden said, “Extreme MAGA Republicans just don’t threaten our personal and economic rights, they embrace political violence,” referencing the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.
“They refuse to accept the will of the people,” he said. “They threaten our very democracy. MAGA Republicans have made their choice. They embrace anger. They thrive on chaos. They live not in the light of truth but in the shadow of lies. What we’re seeing now is the beginning or the death knell of an extreme MAGA philosophy. It’s not just Trump, it’s the entire philosophy that underpins the — I’m going to say something, it’s like semi-fascism.”
And then entertainment blogger and left wing political activist Bob Lefsetz tells us:
“You can’t reason with these people, you can only defeat them. Well I’m pissed, isn’t that enough?”
Actually, no!
“We need the justice system to hold Trump accountable, even more than the ballot box. This guy believes he’s above the law, like too many rich people. We’ve got to show him otherwise. We must say that the buck stops with the law.”
You mean like Hunter Biden and the Biden family crime syndicate? Like when the FBI conspired to hide the Hunter Biden laptop for a year, saying it didn’t exist or was just “Russian misinformation”, long enough for Democrats to win important elections in 2022? Like the cocaine found in the White House, but neither the Secret Service or FBI could figure out who it belonged to? Like the billion dollar deal Biden held over Ukraine’s head to force them to fire a prosecutor who was investigating Hunter Biden?
Joe Biden Forced Ukraine to Fire Prosecutor for Aid Money
“During a Council on Foreign Relations discussion on January 23, 2018, former Vice President Joe Biden spoke about his dealings in Ukraine.”
Oh, and all those “secret documents” Trump kept down in Florida, while Joe stashed his own secret documents in his garage next to his Corvette. Shouldn’t the same laws apply to everybody?
How about the $500,000 in cash and 13 gold bars found at the home of Democratic Senator Bob Menendez who remains in office, even after being indicted? Where oh where is your self-righteous indignation and moral outrage over these crimes?
You are in the final stages of Trump Derangement Syndrome and you don’t even know it. Please seek help immediately!
Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
Thank you for your sharing. I am worried that I lack creative ideas. It is your article that makes me full of hope. Thank you. But, I have a question, can you help me?
