Everybody Hates The Rich
Bob Lefsetz’s Original Post – Everybody Hates the Rich
And they don’t seem to know it.
That’s because it’s not true!
We thought that the country was divided by right and left, Republican and Democrat, that hating and owning the libs was irreversible, that the country couldn’t agree on anything. But this proved untrue, everybody hates the rich.
And it’s not only Trump who is out of touch, who keeps telling us things are great, it was Biden before him, most of the political class, in thrall to the money, is spewing this hogwash, but even worse, they don’t know how the average person lives.
And neither does Bob Lefsetz.
Jeff Bezos and his plastic wife Lauren have been announced as Honorary Chairs of the Met Gala. Does anybody like these people? ANYBODY? No one is as out of touch with people’s perception of him as Jeff Bezos.
Well, if you’re going to trash talk and judge Jeff Bezos’ wife, let’s have a look at your girlfriend, Felice – fair’s fair! And no one is as out of touch with people’s perception of Bob Lefsetz as Bob Lefsetz. You’re not pinching pennies, either…“Yes, I buy top of the line Michelins, Pilot Sports, and they’re warranted for 40,000 miles…”
“There are a few areas where I don’t cheap out. Health, my ski equipment and my computer equipment. Oh, and my car too. I feel good that I got two new pairs of skis last year. Because it made me happy! Skiing is number one, that’s why I went to Middlebury, and that’s what I still do, 57 days last year…”
“I won’t buy an American car. Period. My ski boots are made in Italy. Yes, I’ll pay extra for a foreign car, because I’ll save money in the long run. I’ll pay the premium, because I want the best. Does Trump really think I’ll settle for less?”
And how do you earn all of the money YOU spend on Apple’s top of the line products, fancy foreign cars, celebrity ski resorts and living the big life in Los Angeles?
Industry sources from 2016 forums and profiles suggest Bob Lefsetz commands around $20,000 for a 30-minute keynote, often with demands for first-class travel and premium lodging. – Perplexity AI
That’s not bad for a half hour speech. I sure can’t afford top of the line skis and 57 days a year out on high-priced ski slopes! Imagine how many homeless people and desperate illegal immigrants you could care for with the money you spend on your self-indulgent hobbies. Perhaps you would be willing to invite a few members of the Tongva tribe to live on the land that you, Billie Eilish and other Hollywood millionaires stole from their ancestral land!
A nerd who is trying to convince us since he goes to the gym and wears cowboy hats that he is cool. And the two of them are adulterers to boot. And unlike the rich of the pre-tech era, these two keep parading their wealth and their consumption and…
And do you really believe that those of us in flyover country don’t see YOU for the nerd that you are? You flaunt your first class flights to European museums to argue with music industry CEOs and record company executives, while bragging about your taste for expensive ski equipment and the 57 days you party each year on trendy Colorado mountain resorts.
Democrats invested more than $1.5 BILLION dollars in the effort elect Kamala “Border Czar” Harris and “Tampon Tim” Walz. Not even the rich guy you love to hate most Donald Trump could match those numbers, but he didn’t have to – and he still won with 58% of the electoral college vote.
Everybody wants to fly on the private jet. First and foremost they don’t want to hang with you, the hoi polloi, the great unwashed, but they also like the smell of money, they want to hang with the rich and powerful.
I’d be thrilled to fly first class on someone else’s dime, the way you do to chat with music reps and industry leaders around the world. And the first class hotel accommodations? Sign me up and get me out of this “Super 8”! You sure don’t want to hang with “the great unwashed”, riding coach, packing your lunch, and staying at a “Motel 6”
AI better work for Musk, because Tesla is a disaster. The more we know about Musk the more we don’t like him.
And the more we know about Bob Lefsetz – who envisions himself as an intellectual and esteemed political pundit after years of writing about rock & roll – the more we don’t like him, either.
Epstein was supposed to be the ultimate “gotcha” moment for the Democrats. They could have forced open the Epstein files during the four years they were in power. But they chose to wait, hoping damning evidence would be revealed after Donald Trump was elected. And yet, more Democrats have been embarrassed than Republicans. But they demanded we open that whole can of worms, and I’m glad they did!
There shouldn’t be any billionaires.
Nice to see you standing alongside New York City Socialist Mayor Zohran Mamdani, who also stated:
“On NBC’s “Meet the Press” in June 2025, he stated, “I don’t think we should have billionaires,” tying it to wealth inequality in the nation’s richest city where one in four residents lives in poverty.” – Perlexity AI
You’ll enjoy this song, written just for you, Bobby!
“Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” expired with the last century, Robin Leach is six feet under. But the press believes the public is still in thrall to those with money.
And you can’t see that?
Popular shows about the wealthy elite and celebrities span reality TV and scripted dramas.
Reality TV Hits
- Real Housewives franchise (e.g., Beverly Hills, NYC, NJ on Peacock/Bravo): Focuses on luxury lifestyles, feuds among socialites; Vanderpump Rules spin-off leads with 1M+ weekly viewers.
- Selling Sunset (Netflix): Luxury real estate agents in LA mansions; 50M+ hours viewed per season.
- Billion Dollar Listing (various cities, Paramount+/Bravo): High-end brokers closing elite deals.
We keep hearing what they’re doing with their billions, boys with their toys. Meanwhile, we go to the grocery store and buy nothing and it’s $45.
So stop shopping at “Whole Foods” and your fancy Hollywood delicatessens! “Boys with their toys”? Like the Starlink systems worldwide Internet service provider, Blue Origin, SpaceX Falcon 9 and Starship companies? TOYS? They’re not investing in top end skis, sweaters and vacations at Vail – they are improving and changing the lives of Americans and people all over the world! Don’t be such a hater!
And most of the billionaires own assets. They don’t have billions in cash. They have billions in stock in their company. Bill Gates, stock in Microsoft. Larry Page, stock in Google. Jeff Bezos, stock in Amazon.
And if you challenge the rich they keep saying they earned it, that without them the country wouldn’t run. When the truth is each and every one of their companies relies on public consumption and the truth is the entire nation runs on public consumption.
So this time you are right on ALL counts – they worked for it, they earned it, they invested it in companies that create stuff and provide valuable services and products to consumers, and they ALL rely on public consumption. Are you trying to tell us something we don’t already know? Why do you resent those facts? You’re no billionaire, but you are far richer than I will ever be and I’ve been working hard for more than 60 years.
As for Trump… We all know he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, but more importantly he has lost all credibility, he’s lied so much that when he talks about the economy and wealth there’s not a soul who believes him, probably not even himself.
TDS – You’re a classic stage four victim. Price of eggs is down, stock market has hit new highs, unemployment insurance filings down and employment numbers are up. Check your actual metrics and leave your TDS left coast prejudices aside, if you are still able… It may already be too late.
The resentment has been brewing and now the Epstein files have tipped the scale.
We can debate all day long Trump’s policies, whether they’re good or bad for the country…but one thing everybody agrees on, except for a tiny slice of wealthy people, is we’re financially f*cked. We just can’t get ahead. Trump ran on saying the game was rigged, and then he took advantage of it, lining his pockets, pardoning criminals and giving a pass to anyone who has money.
Blah, blah, blah. If you just can’t get ahead while being paid $20,000 for a 30 minute speech, you need to cut back on the 57 ski trips to Vail, dude! “Pardoning criminals”? Your boy Biden gave out 80 total individual pardons and 4,165+ commutations, along with 15 PREEMPTIVE pardons for members of his administration who had not even been charged with any crime! President Trump is going to have fun with that exciting new precedent established by Old Uncle Joe Biden…
There’s a fiction that the president has power, that the government has power, that the press has power, but the truth is immutable, THE PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER!
And they’re pissed.
Don’t get your silk panties in a bunch. The people who are really pissed are those in the red states and flyover country, containing 62% of the population in the U.S. And they voted for and continue to support the President.
But they want us to fear it so we won’t look at the real issues. And the bloviators of AI, people like Sam Altman, are hated by the public too. Our issues are more basic, like how to make ends meet. The average price of a new car is north of $50,000. The average person is priced out of this and that and…
When will it blow?
Wouldn’t you love to see that? More bitchin’, looting, riots, fights in the streets, protests and fires, lives lost, and confrontations, as self-righteous left coast Democrats and big-headed music bloggers stoke the fires of discontent. Bring it on! It’s all the Democrats have left in their quiver.
This country is ready for a rupture. A reset. It’s the rich who are tearing up the social fabric and the public is at a boil.
You’d love that – a revolution – you and Bernie Sanders, AOC & “The Squad”, Elizabeth Warren, and Socialist Zohran Mamdani… TRUE Americans each!
“There shouldn’t be any billionaires.”
This cannot go on, it’s just a matter of when it blows.
Hearts and minds… We couldn’t beat the Vietcong, with all our money and power. Hearts and minds have turned off of politics, don’t trust the words of the rich and powerful. All we need is a spark.
And you’re just the informed and highly educated political pundit ready and willing to light the first match.
Get over yourself – and stop pummeling your music and entertainment subscribers with your left wing political propaganda.
This is NOT what we subscribed for.
