Musk Self-Immolates
Bob Lefsetz’s Original Post – “Musk Self-Immolates”
“But there are so many more offerings in the channel. Nothing is ubiquitous. The media reports these stories, believing most people care, but most people don’t. Rihanna had a baby? When was the last time she put out a record? In other words, all the big stories are not.
And I could go much deeper, but I’d mess with your preconceptions.”
How about YOUR preconceptions that your political opinions are relevant or matter to anyone but your fanboy wankers? Your left coast liberal commentaries are devoid of any wisdom, fact-checking, maturity, rational thought, documentation or truth.
“And brings Tesla down in the process.”
Last month Tesla sales were skyrocketing while overall US auto sales were down 18%.
“Tesla Sales Skyrocket Up 256%, Overall US Auto Sales Down 18%”
“The first three months of 2022 didn’t bring much joy to car sellers in the United States — unless they happened to be selling Tesla vehicles, in which case their cash registers are probably still ringing as a result of increased business.”
“One thing we can say about both Musk and Depp is despite being in the public eye, they’re completely out of touch with what the public thinks.
But that does not mean what they lead with is what the public is interested in.
That’s the big story, how everything is niche. Except for a very thin layer of people. We’ve got Trump, Elon, Kanye…even Biden isn’t as big. Hell, most people have no idea what Biden has done in office, they just hear the buzz that he hasn’t delivered and buy it. Proving, once again, that facts are fungible and the truth is irrelevant.”
Well, as President Biden himself told us, “We choose truth over facts!” That seems to be your position, as well! And the truth is he abandoned Afghanistan, left behind American citizens along with more than $80 BILLION dollars in military equipment, he wants to give Iran nuclear weapons, he’s increased inflation to Jimmy Carter levels and is leading the Democratic party to serious election losses in the midterms next November.
“But there are so many more offerings in the channel. Nothing is ubiquitous. The media reports these stories, believing most people care, but most people don’t.”
The majority of your blog posts and newsletters these days consist of left wing political rants directly out of the Democratic Party playbook and the yammering of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and “The Squad”. But you have no background or experience in politics. If you really think you are such a political expert, start a political blog and see how many people sign up to read what you have to say. You believe most people care about your politics. but most people don’t.
“And there’s plenty of money in these giant niches. Hell, there’s plenty of money in small niches today, but if you have to appeal to everybody?
That’s a different game.”
Well, you’ve made millions, you travel first class, and stay in five star hotels around the world, thanks to your own fan base of music industry intelligentsia, record label owners and producers. Your little niche has made you rich. But is that because of your left wingnut pandering to Democratic politicians? I think not.
“Don’t compare Tesla with a band. Tesla is a corporation with more money at stake than not only any artist, but any record label. It only works if everything in the food chain is aligned. Not only the supply chain and the cars themselves, but the consumers who Tesla depends upon to buy their automobiles and keep the virtuous circle going.”
But if the public finds out that the circle is not so virtuous?
Tesla’s got a problem.”
Fair enough – but in the entire history of this great country, when has ANY musician – even your hero Neil Young – band, music producer, record label, awards show or music blogger ever created anything of real value that improved the lives of millions, provided thousands of jobs, and brought people out of poverty? Sure, the Beatles and many groups gave a lot of people good feelz and provided AM and FM radio fodder and gave entertainment blogger Bob Lefsetz an opportunity to become a millionaire opining about arts, music and entertainment, but what is so virtuous about that?
“As for Trump… The story isn’t that his endorsed candidates did so well in the primaries, but how many did not. Even “The Wall Street Journal” had a piece about that. You see the old institutions, the old Republicans, want to wrest control of the party back from Trump, not only because of his power, but because he, like Britney, is bats__t crazy. Sure, some people think he’s god, but fewer and fewer every day.
You see Trump has pushed the line too far. He’s gotten in trouble with the law. He’s only skating because elected officials were afraid of him and he was President, believe me, if it was anybody else they’d be locked up.”
We’ll have to wait and see how well Joe Biden and the Dems do in the midterm elections. Liberal Politico tells us as of April 13, 2022:
THE SENATE – leans Republican
THE HOUSE – likely Republican
“Have you ever met any of your heroes? I hope not, because they very rarely measure up to your expectations.”
You may think that President Donald Trump is bats__t crazy and you have a First Amendment right to say so, and yet Mr. Trump did not invent political abuses of power. As far as we know, he never got one of his female companions drunk, drove her into a lake, and left her there to drown, nor was he getting B.J.’s in the Oval Office and using a young intern’s va-jay-jay for his cigar humidor. Those are YOUR heroes, no doubt…
How about Joe Biden and his drug addict womanizing son Hunter Biden?
According to the liberal NBC News:
“From 2013 through 2018 Hunter Biden and his company brought in about $11 million via his roles as an attorney and a board member with a Ukrainian firm accused of bribery and his work with a Chinese businessman now accused of fraud, according to an NBC News analysis of a copy of Biden’s hard drive and iCloud account and documents released by Republicans on two Senate committees.
The documents and the analysis, which don’t show what he did to earn millions from his Chinese partners, raise questions about national security, business ethics and potential legal exposure.”
Hunter Biden’s hard drive shows he, his firm took in about $11 million from 2013 to 2018, spent it fast
“So Elon was one of the PayPal bros, and then there was Tesla and SpaceX and for those paying attention, and believe me it wasn’t everybody until very recently, they had hope. Here was one man making a difference.”
Elon Musk revolutionized Internet commerce, developed space rockets NASA could not and created electric cars Detroit automakers could not, guaranteed to reduce pollution and slow climate change. EVIL! EVIL! EVIL!
“The public is looking for heroes, but not this type. Something more along the lines of Bernie Sanders, who believes in his mission of helping the underdog and can laugh at himself.”
He may be another one of YOUR heroes, if your idea of a romantic honeymoon on your second marriage is a trip to Moscow in the Soviet Union. From the liberal Washington Post:
“A video of the event shows Sanders, bare-chested, listening in delight to Russian folk songs. In response, Sanders and other Americans sang the Woody Guthrie ballad “This Land Is Your Land.” to his hosts in the Soviet Union in the spring of 1988. As he stood on Soviet soil, Sanders, then 46 years old, criticized the cost of housing and health care in the United States, while lauding the lower prices — but not the quality — of that available in the Soviet Union. Then, at a banquet attended by about 100 people, Sanders blasted the way the United States had intervened in other countries, stunning one of those who had accompanied him.”
Inside Bernie Sanders’s 1988 10-day ‘honeymoon’ in the Soviet Union
Your hero, Bernie Sanders, “blasted the way the United States had intervened in other countries” to some of the same people who would later invade Ukraine under false pretenses (“truth over facts” again – you must be proud!).
And if a senile, confused, early-onset Alzheimer’s Joe Biden who is heading for an early retirement at a memory-care unit in a senior citizens assisted living center is your choice to lead the United States into the future, you might also want to book rooms for you and Felice there someday soon.
“And now we know SpaceX paid $250,000 to settle a sexual harassment claim against Musk. Would this have come out if not for the Twitter shenanigans? No. People come out of the woodwork with stories, the media is looking for them, and voila, Musk looks bad.”
And Hillary “the smartest woman in the world” Clinton’s husband had to pay Paula Jones $850,000 in an out-of-court settlement back in November of 1998 (which would equal $1,507,623.62 in today’s dollars). Shame on misogynist Elon Musk! Was Musk a frequent visitor at Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficing island like Bill Clinton was? Your hypocrisy is mind-boggling!
“And believe me, there are not enough right wingers to keep Tesla’s assembly line churning.”
So you think only “right-wingers” are buying Teslas? More “truth before facts” again? Sources, please. From May 3rd:
“According to a CNN article published a few months ago, Tesla owners are nearly evenly split among Democrats and Republicans, with a slight weight on the Democratic side.”
Republicans & Democrats Both Buy Teslas
Then you drag out this old trope:
“The Corvair? Ralph Nader killed it, Chevrolet had no choice but to stop making it.”
Boy, do you need a fact-checker for all of your political hate-speech!
“It’s a standard misconception among the general public that Ralph Nader killed the Corvair, but the reality is that Ralph simply kicked a dead horse. Nevertheless, GM saw the handwriting on the wall and froze further development of the Corvair halfway through the model year in April of 1965, shifting the cash towards a new car to challenge the Mustang head-on: the Camaro. Note that cover art makes no mention of the Corvair. Ralph never singled out the rear-engine Chevrolet as being uniquely unsafe at any speed until his oral testimony at Senator Abraham Ribicoff’s committee hearings on auto safety in February of 1966.”
Who Killed The Corvair?
“Know that you’re probably always going to be niche, so play the game accordingly. When you try to reach everybody you won’t, and chances are you’ll alienate many.
The game has changed, and you must change with it.”
Boy, does that describe the Bob Lefsetz political base. You are alienating many, but you don’t care – you’re wealthy – you’re part of the 1% – you choose “truth over facts”.
“You don’t want to be too famous. Especially if you’re a behind the scenes person anyway.
Let that be a lesson to you.”
And it’s a lesson I’m sure you will never learn.
Sad.
